Food and water are vital national resources, playing crucial roles for both immediate survival and broader food security. Food security refers to a situation wherein individuals, households, and communities have the physical, social, and economic means to access sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their dietary requirements and food preferences, enabling an active and healthy lifestyle. Food security planning at the national level requires a multidimensional approach that encompasses the entire food value chain, including national economic models that influence food security. This involves the water sector, agriculture, storage and processing of both local and imported produce, public accessibility, consumption patterns, workforce and technologies, and the environmental aspects involved in the entire food production and distribution process.
