A world authority on food engineering, Prof. Eyal Shimoni, left a successful academic career to dedicate himself to advancing the Israeli foodtech industry. He is a renowned R&D tech and foodtech expert with comprehensive leadership skills in technology development, fostering innovation, and relationship building. Shimoni is also a venture partner, board member, consultant, and mentor of startups. He has developed and implemented winning strategies in R&D and innovation, and was honored with the “European CTO of the Year” by EIRMA in 2017. He established “The Kitchen FoodTech hub”; led the creation of the EIT Food Accelerators Network (FAN); and is founder and chair of the Israeli Food IoT – Big Data consortia. A climate and environment enthusiast, Shimoni is dedicated to revolutionizing the food production landscape by enabling comprehensive connectivity throughout the value chain. His primary focus at the Samuel Neaman Institute is fostering food security.
