The Samuel Neaman Institute announces the launch of the Neaman Research Dashboard – an innovative interactive platform developed by the Institute’s research team to centralize and present, in one accessible interface, comprehensive data on the state of research, higher education, and innovation in Israel. The platform’s dynamic dashboard provides an up-to-date, multidimensional view of key research domains, drawing on a wide array of indicators including scientific publications, student and faculty data, research grants, patents, startups, government budgets, and the participation of Israeli institutions in international research programs.

The Neaman Index tracks research and innovation indicators across strategic fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Health, Higher Education, Academic Boycott, Waste Management, Food & Agriculture, and Multicultural Campus – a domain exploring the social and cultural dimensions of shared life in academic institutions.

Unique AI-related indicators showcased in the dashboard include: weekly tracking of job postings in the field, broken down by specialization and location; the number of AI-focused academic programs at Israeli universities; and the distribution of AI-related theses – a valuable proxy for estimating the number of advanced degree holders in the field.

The Neaman Research Dashboard is designed to equip policymakers, researchers, students, and other stakeholders with reliable, data-driven insights to identify trends, inform evidence-based policy, and support long-term strategic planning for strengthening Israel’s research ecosystem. By integrating diverse domains into one cohesive platform, the Index offers a panoramic and interconnected perspective on Israeli academia and its vital role in driving innovation.

“Our vision was to create a tool that enables everyone, from policymakers to students, to see the trends shaping research and innovation in Israel. In an era of global competition and rapidly evolving information, there is a pressing need for an open, regularly updated, and accessible knowledge base to support informed decision-making and identify emerging opportunities and challenges,” says Dr. Tsipy Buchnik, the lead researcher behind the platform’s development.
