This report was prepared as part of the national tender “developing a comprehensive national policy for advancing scientific research in Israel”, commissioned by the National Council for Research and Development at the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology.
Its goal is to provide a comparative data infrastructure to support decision makers in three key areas: Life Sciences and Health, Agri-Food-Tech, and Energy and Climate-Tech.
The report aims to present an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of business, governmental, and academic activities in these fields. It offers both a broad overview of the three domains and a detailed analysis of each, organized around three main sectors: the business sector, the governmental sector, and the academic sector.
The various chapters examine active companies, companies whose activities have ceased, investments and grants, calls for proposals and research funds, consortia, conferences, and seminars. In addition, the report includes detailed appendices that complement the data, covering fields of study, investments by the Israel Innovation Authority, and more.
Overall, the document provides essential insights for researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders who seek to understand the current situation, as well as the challenges and opportunities in each of these domains.
