About

Nehemia received his BA in Psychology and Philosophy from Tel Aviv University and his Master’s and PhD in Social Psychology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He taught and conducted research at Tel Aviv University’s Department of Psychology and served as its chair for four years. He specializes in intergroup relations, conflict resolution, judgment and decision-making under stress, psychometrics and measurement.

As a TAU faculty member, he helped establish the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo and its School of Behavioral Sciences. Eventually, he was elected president of the College.

Nehemia served on the Israel Council of Higher Education and the Council’s Committee for Budgeting and Planning. His tenure in these regulatory bodies coincided with the beginning of Israel’s move to establish Academic Colleges alongside the research Universities. His involvement in the process gave him a unique vantage point on Israel’s higher education policy and structure.
