ECONOMICS OF NATIONAL SECURITY PROGRAM (ENS)

The Economics of National Security Program, (ENS), deals with all economic aspects of national security in Israel: how defense and security affect the economy, and the economic costs of building defense capabilities and maintaining security. Presentations and summaries of the meetings are availabe on the website.

THE FORUM FOR DISCUSSION OF ISSUES IN HIGHER EDUCATION

The Forum is a follow-up of the conference: 'Transition to Higher Education Systems: International Comparisons and Perspectives' in which it was recommended that an open dialogue be conducted between the Universities and the Colleges with the collaboration of the Council for Higher Education, the Planning and Budgeting Committee and other bodies. The seminar's goal is to bring together scientists from academy as well as leading personnel from industry working on the same subject, in-order to promote communication and synergism among all of its participants and consequently to encourage biotechnology and life sciences in the north of ISRAEL, thus contributing to a better economy.

Three main issues were discussed during the one-day seminar, in compliance with the water authority master plan work frames: · Effluent quality at the treatment plant exit and the principles of quality policies · Grey water and home treatment facilities · The future of the SHAFDAN and geographical spread of treatment plants. A full report of the lectures and discussions, including recommendations regarding the implementation of the seminar products and conclusions
