To promote affordable housing, the Interior Ministry Planning Authority initiated, two years ago, a comparative study on affordable housing. The research, 'expanding the supply of affordable housing: tools of statutory planning and Local Policy', conducted by a team led by Professor Rachelle Alterman and Dr. Emily Silverman from the Technion in cooperation with Dr. Chaim Fielkof, and was funded by and accompanied by the Interior Ministry Planning Authority.The essence of the study is an international review on developments in the field and on this basis, analysis and recommendations on tools to promote affordable housing in Israel. the study examined the following countries: USA, France, Germany, England, Holland, Australia, Canada, Spain and New Zealand.
