This study is part of an investigation carried out by the Samuel Neaman Institute on the future Alternatives of the Plastics and Polymers industries in Israel.<\/p>\n

A previous study “The Polymer Industry in Israel and the World” was prepared by H.D. Frenkel, and was published by the Samuel Neaman Institute in November 1990. The objective of that study was to review the status of the monomer and polymer industries in Israel and in the world and to analyze the effect of these industries on the plastics industries. Forecasts and alternatives for the next decade – toward the year 2000 – are presented.<\/p>\n

The objectives of the present study are:<\/p>\n

  1. To present the economic status of the Plastic Industrial Sector in Israel.<\/li>\n
  2. To analyze and study the Processing Technologies sub-sectors and End-use Sub-Sectors of the Plastics Industry.<\/li>\n
  3. To compare the economic status of the Plastic Industrial Sector to Other Industrial Sectors in Israel.<\/li>\n
  4. To compare the economic status of the Plastic Industrial Sector in Israel to that of other countries.<\/li>\n
  5. To present global trends and forecast for the current decade.<\/li>\n
