Joining the Board of Directors, he later became the Executive Vice President and CFO, subsequently assuming the roles of President and COO. Sutton orchestrated the successful $270 million sale of Laser Industries Ltd. to ESC Medical Systems in 1998. In 1999, Sutton was appointed CEO of ESC Medical Systems, implementing a transformative restructuring plan, driving the company to profitability. Under his leadership, the 2001 acquisition of Coherent Medical Group propelled the company to new heights, with 1,500 employees and a $360 million turnover.
