“The Shortened Track for Acceptance to Technion: A Formative Assessment"

This study investigates the evaluation of the "shortened track" admission route at Technion, a unique alternative pathway for accepting students. The research aims to assess the effectiveness of this admission route in increasing diversity among students and explore strategies to attract underrepresented populations. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative methods. Semi-structured interviews were conducted in two stages to gather comprehensive insights and perspectives. The findings contribute to the ongoing improvement of the shortened track program and provide valuable recommendations for enhancing inclusivity and equity at Technion.

This research extends a previous study by the authors on "The Role of Research Universities in the Israeli R&D System" by examining the possibility of a growing shortage in recipients of academic degrees in science and technology (S&T).

Technion’s Contribution to Israel and to the Development of Technology in the World, Through Its Graduates

This project documents the contribution of Technion faculty and graduates, to Israel and to humanity. It includes a Web-based survey of Technion graduates, to which over 4,000 alumni/ae responded. The results of the survey were analyzed and processed; we extrapolated the data to represent the population of all Technion graduates since the Technion was founded.

Women In Computing

the project focused on how diversity is expressed in the national Informatics Olympiad. There are numerous international, as well as national, science Olympiads that serve as an opportunity for developing and demonstrating intellectual and scientific skills; as such, they attract highly talented and gifted students. Accordingly, a relevant question to be asked is: What does this fact reflect with respect to the expression of diversity in this context? In this study we aim at examining this question by focusing on how diversity is expressed in the Israeli national Informatics Olympiad.

Science and Technology Education Forum

The Forum for Science and Technology Education started its activities in 2013. The purpose of the forum is to establish and promote cooperation between different sectors in Israel in order to foster K-12 science and technology education. The Neaman Institute decided to focus on this topic due to the importance attributed to science and technology education in Israel for the future of the state and the need to increase the number of high-school pupils who choose to study these subjects on the AP level.
