At the end of this year a book by Prof. Shlomo Maytal will be published titled: Technion Nation. The book will be in Chinese, and his publisher is Hangzhu - Books China Machine Press, which is considered the largest publisher of business books in China. The book will be distributed in China.

Prof. Rachelle Alterman will be the keynote speaker at the Housing convention of the Bank of Israel's "housing market issues" that will be held on December 27 in Jerusalem. The conference will be opened by the Bank of Israel Governor Karnit Flug.

Alterman's lecture will be the keynote lecture and is based on work done at Samuel Neaman Institute.

Prof. Shlomo Maytal, gave a lecture on November 10 in Lucerne, Switzerland, at Israel and Switzerland conference: Swiss-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Switzerland Technion Society  the lecture subject: SwIssrael: Innovation Nation Acquires Startup Nation. The aim of the lecture is an attempt to promote cooperation between Israel and Switzerland.

Prof. Shlomo Meital, gave a lecture on November 8th, at Masaryk University (Czech Republic) on: Building a vibrant startup ecosystem for the Czech Republic, for graduate students, as part of an Israeli Course organized by Dr. Ethan Anders, University of Haifa.

Prof. Ofira Ayalon participated in a meeting of the Science and Technology Committee on the subject: "Innovation in handling agricultural products: safety, health, and extending shelf life".

The meeting was held on November 1, and was broadcast live on the Knesset Channel. Prof. Ayalon presented at the meeting Samuel Neaman Institute work in recent years, which inspects the values of agriculture and their contribution to the Israeli economy.

In addition, the new document of Samuel Neaman Institute was presented. The new document deals with the innovation of agricultural technology in light of climate change and growing demand for food worldwide. The report was submitted to the committee chairman and the Knesset members present at the meeting in light of their request.

Prof. Shlomo Maytal gave a lecture on October 14 at the conference Israel China Investment Summit, Held at the Dan Carmel hotel in Haifa to a group of investors from China. The goal of the conference was to learn about the opportunities for startups cooperation between Israel and China.

Prof. Ofira Ayalon was interviewed on the Reshet Bet’s radio program ‘all talk’ about climate change and its impacts

Prof. Ofira Ayalon was interviewed for the radio program "On the way to nature" at Reshet Bet, on the lack of a work plan of the Ministry of the Environmental Protection regarding adaptation to climate changes.

The limited supply of housing in Israel has led to the steepest increase in housing prices compared with other developed countries, according to the OECD report published on the Israeli economy. These figures are not surprising - So what could be done to change the bleak state of the Israeli real estate market? Prof. Ayalon head of Environmental Project at Samuel Neaman Institute was interviewed on the radio program "On the way to nature" regarding disposal of surplus food.

Dr. Reuven Gal participated in the Third Kinneret Conference of the Association of Civil-Military Studies: “Transformations in Civil-Military Relations in Israel in the Era of New Wars”.  Dr. Gal chaired a session on ‘Recruiting Haredim to the IDF - Implications on Military-Society-Politics relations in Israel’.

Dr. Eran Leck presented at the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities the UNESCO report on Mapping Research and Innovation in the State of Israel. The research, initiated by the Academy, is a part of UNESCO’s series of country profiles in Science, Engineering, Technology and Innovation (SETI) policy. Link to the PPT here.
