On Tuesday 12th December, 2006 from 1130-1300 in the Seminar Room, S. Neaman

Institute, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa.

 

Educated in physics and electronics, Prof Rajan is currently Adjunct Professor at the Birla

Institute of Technology & Science and Principal Adviser to the Confederation of Indian

Industry. Prof Rajan is a member of the Governing Council of numerous Indian

Universities.

 

Prof Rajan has held many senior positions of responsibility in the Indian government,

including that of Secretary to the Government of India; and in the Indian Space Research

Organization and Indian Space Program, in which Prof Rajan has made major contributions

since the 1960's. Prof Rajan has very wide international experience, and has visited more

than 35 countries. Prof Rajan is the author or co-author of very many books and articles,

including "India 2020- A Vision for the New Millenium", by A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the

serving President of India.

 

Prof Rajan was the Founding Executive Director of TIFAC, the Technology Information,

Forecasting and Assessment Council. TIFAC is the Indian partner of the S. Neaman

Institute in the India Israel Innovation Program (3IP).
