R&D Firms Panel (mfg. firms, 1990-99)
Panel of firms doing R&D during 1990-99 based on the yearly R&D Surveys of manufacturing firms.The Surveys include manufacturing firms employing 5 or more employees that were engaged in R&D. In 1990, a census of all manufacturing firms was done which served as a framework for the samples in 1991-96. In 1997 a new sample was generated from the framework created by list of firms engaged in R&D according to the 1997 Innovation Survey. This new framework included all firms that reported doing research on new products and processes in the Innovation Survey, and firms that received government support (from the ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour as well as from bi-national grants). In addition, the file includes data on employment and revenues from the reports of the manufacturing firms. Data available ony at the research rooms of the Central Bureau of Statistics
